Rome wasn't built in a day. Choose to focus on one behavior change at a time. Find a reason to make eating healthy a priority. Make sure your behavior goal is reasonable and attainable. Get support for your habit change from family, friends or a group.
Join the hoopla and read up on the New Food Icon. I am not suggesting that you immediately change your plate to imitate the recommended one, but make a change you can live with. Everything you need is on the website.
If you don't eat fruits and vegetables now, add them to your diet immediately. Summer time is the season to indulge in fresh fruits and vegetables. The choices are limitless for unusual selection and peak flavor and quality. Try eating them raw so you reap all the nutritional benefits and make sure fruits and veggies cover half your plate. They will fill you up and give you pause before you eat whatever else you have in front of you.
