Eggs are nature's best wrapped source of protein, low in calories (70) and high in calcium, vitamin D and folate. They are one of the most nutrient dense foods. True there is cholesterol in the yolk, but eggs today have 14% less cholesterol than in 2002 and the amount, 185mg, is below the recommended daily allowance of 300mg (based on a 2000 calorie intake).
